Pee hole small, urine goes up

Stream is deflected upwards due to very small pee hole

Happens in circumcised boys

Tight foreskin doesn't pull back

Normal at birth but over time foreskin should loosen and allow head to come out, allow cleaning

Happens in natural penis (no circumcision)

Penile skin stuck to head of penis

Penile Adhesions

Will usually resolve on their own over time (in circumcised and uncircumcised boys)

Penile Skin Bridge

Thick band of tissue connecting shaft and head requiring intervention at some point

Happens in circumcised boys

Pee tube is short, opening low

Hypospadias

Asymmetrical foreskin, opening lower than the tip, often some bending of the shaft as well

Can be a reason not to do a circumcision at birth

May or may not require surgery

Penis is bent

Chordee

Can be bent downwards (ventral chordee)

Can be bent sideways (Iateral chordee)

Can be a reason not to do a circumcision at birth

May or may not require surgery

Penis is twisted

Penile Torsion

Penis is rotated at the base so that opening typically "looks" towards his left side

Can be a reason not to do a circumcision at birth

May or may not require surgery

Penis is buried or hidden

Penoscrotal Webbing

Unusual connection between the penis and scrotum such that scrotal skin is attached too high up on penis

Can be a reason not to do a circumcision immediately at birth

May or may not require surgery

Foreskin is pulled up and can't come back down over head

Paraphimosis

Head of penis starts to swell and tight foreskin can no longer cover it

Can cut off blood supply to head of penis

Surgical emergency! (May require emergency circumcision)

Happens only to natural penis/uncircumcised boys
